Cypress trees on rolling green hills in Val d’Orcia, Tuscany

Sample Journey

A Week in Italy

Rome · Florence · Tuscany

A sample journey for travelers who want the icons, but don’t want the entire trip to feel like a checklist.

The journey

  1. The Colosseum’s arches in early evening light in Rome

    Days 1–2

    Rome

Start with the icons. Leave room to wander.

Arrival, neighborhood orientation, historic Rome, and a relaxed dinner.

    Why we start here:

Rome is intense. Packing every major landmark into the first day can make the beginning of the trip feel like work.

  2. A bridge over the Arno river at sunset in Florence

    Days 3–4

    Florence

    Trade traffic for walkability.

Train from Rome, Renaissance highlights, neighborhood exploration, food, and an evening walk.

    Why it works:

A train keeps this transition simple and avoids losing half a day to another airport.

  3. A lamplit stone street in the small Tuscan town of Pienza at dusk

    Days 5–7

    Tuscany

Slow the pace before going home.

Countryside stay, a winery or food experience, small towns, and unstructured time.

    Why we finish here:

Instead of ending the trip exhausted in another major city, the final days deliberately slow down.

Same journey. Different priorities.
